Congressional Candidate Tracey Brooks Concludes “7 Counties in 7 Days" Tour of the 21st Congressional District
Campaigns today in Schoharie, Saratoga and Albany Counties Tracey Brooks today concluded a
tour of all seven counties in the 21st Congressional District,
speaking with our region’s local residents, farmers, and senior citizens.
“In 2008 people are calling for
change, and asking Congress to focus on the right priorities, and are looking
for leaders with the right experience to make that change a reality. My years working for Senator Clinton and with
Congressman McNulty, listening to our friends and neighbors, helping them find
real solutions, to their very real problems has given me the right experience
to get the job done,” said Tracey Brooks.
“Over the last week, I’ve visited communities in the seven counties of
our district, talking about agriculture, education, health care, economic
development and supporting small businesses – the right priorities, the
people’s priorities.”
Brooks is seeking the Democratic
nomination for the 21st Congressional District, a seat currently
held by Democratic Congressman Mike McNulty who last year announced his
intention to retire from Congress. Sunday, Brooks received the endorsement of
Cohoes Mayor John McDonald, following the endorsement of Congressman McNulty’s
sister Green Island Mayor Ellen McNulty Ryan last week.
“I believe in the strength of our farms, the
ingenuity of our technological firms and the vitality of our small businesses,”
said Tracey Brooks. “Last week I started
a conversation with the people of this district, and I look forward to
continuing it everyday.”
Brooks begins the day in Schoharie County at the Carrot Barn, conducting
a round table discussion with local farmers, discussing issues facing the
agriculture industry and the next generation of farmers. Brooks then heads to Saratoga
County to discuss alternative water
sources for the town of Waterford once drudging
of the Hudson River begins. Brooks then finishes the day at the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizen Center in Albany County.
There, she will meet with area seniors to listen to their concerns and talk
about solutions moving forward.
As a lifelong resident of the Albany area and the
Capitol Regional Director for Senator Hillary Clinton for the last three years,
Brooks enters the race with working knowledge of the problems facing the region
and experience in finding solutions to them.
“Over the last two decades
Congressman McNulty has worked relentlessly for the people of this district,
and I look forward to continuing that work in Washington,” said Tracey Brooks. “I will fight to bring our troops home,
restore economic stability, provide comprehensive health care reform, support
our local farmers, and push for real solutions to our nation’s energy crisis.”
