Albany Transit
Workers Endorse Tracey Brooks
(Albany, March 24)
Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1321 representing 750 members/employees of the
Capital District Transportation Authority {CDTA} announced their support of Tracey Brooks for the 21st Congressional District.
“Throughout
her career Tracey Brooks has been an energetic and consistent advocate for the
interest of transit workers and all working men and women in the Capital
District; supporting increased funding for the transit systems, calling for an immediate
solution to the sub-prime Mortgage crisis to help protect our housing and local
economy. Ms. Brooks has been fighting for seniors, non-profits and our schools,”
said Local president and business agent, Steven Green of ATU Local 1321. “We
believe that Tracey Brooks is the best person to represent the interests of the
working men and women in our community as Congressperson.”
“We’re
going to be with her every step of the way,” Green said of the union’s support
for Tracey Brooks. “Through her experience, leadership and performance in her
years as a community leader, Tracey Brooks has proven to us that she has the
integrity, the vision, and the will to be our next Congressperson; and we want
to help her achieve that goal.”
