Tracey Brooks Focuses on Capital Region Economy
Calls for Investment in New Technologies and a Departure from Failed Bush Policies 

Congressional Candidate Tracey Brooks pointed to recent reports of a surprisingly high local unemployment rate and a potential local sub-prime mortgage crisis in calling for immediate action to address our struggling local economy and help Capital Region working families. 

“We must immediately reinvigorate our economy with a short-term stimulus plan that can bring jobs back to the Capital Region and ease the squeeze on middle-class families,” said Brooks, a Democratic candidate in the 21st Congressional District. “Our area can’t afford to wait any longer with gas prices creeping towards $4.00 per gallon, home heating costs through the roof, and a local unemployment rate that’s higher than the state average – we must act now.”

Tracey Brooks Supports “Earth Hour” Worldwide Conservation Effort 
Will Make Climate Change, Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Focal Points of Her Campaign

Earth HourCongressional Candidate Tracey Brooks today announced her support for the “Earth Hour” energy conservation effort created by the World Wildlife Fund and invited all families and businesses in the Capital Region to join millions around the world in turning off their lights for just one hour.

The creators of “Earth Hour” are asking people to make a statement about climate change by turning off their lights from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. on March 29, 2008. Earth Hour was started last year in Sydney, Australia, and in one year has grown from a single event in one city to a global movement.  This year, millions of people, businesses, governments and organizations around the globe are expected to turn off their lights...

Rocco DeFazio Hosts Tracey Brooks Event in Troy 

Troy entrepreneur and community leader Rocco DeFazio today announced that he will host a “March Madness Goes to Washington” fundraiser and candidate meet-n-greet with Congressional candidate and former basketball state champion Tracey Brooks on Sunday, March 30th, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, at Ryan’s Wake in Troy.

Democratic candidate for the 21st Congressional District Tracey Brooks said today she’s gotten endorsed by the national group Emily’s List, an organization that supports pro-choice female candidates for office.

“Tracey Brooks is a bright, honest, and articulate leader who has been actively working with New York communities for more than fifteen years,” said Ellen R. Malcolm, president of EMILY’s List, in a press release from the organization. “A fresh voice with innovative ideas, Tracey is a rising star in the political world.”

On Fifth Anniversary of Iraq War, Congressional Candidate Tracey Brooks Calls on President Bush To Bring Our Troops Home

Tracey Brooks, Congressional candidate in the Capital Region’s 21st District, called on President Bush to finally end the war in Iraq and bring our troops home.

“President Bush, our troops have done their job and now it’s time to bring them home,” said Brooks. “We all know that it doesn't make sense to continue spending billions of dollars abroad on a mission we were told was accomplished several years ago when we have so many important issues to address here at home...”

Congressional Candidate Tracey Brooks Meets with Health Care Representatives from Hospitals, Home Care Agencies, Community Health Centers and Emergency Responders

Tracey Brooks, Congressional candidate in the Capital Region’s 21st District, has been meeting with state and local health care leaders from throughout the region, discussing the current State and Federal health care budgets and proposed cuts, issues impacting the local health care community and ideas for improving our health care delivery system.

“We need to provide comprehensive health care reform and the only way to do that right is to work with both those receiving and those delivering health care services,” said Brooks. “We must address the rising costs of health care, expand affordable health care options, increase incentives for medical research and innovation, and ensure that everyone in America receives health care. Brooks Receives Big Endorsements



ALBANY, N.Y. -- Democratic Congressional hopeful Tracey Brooks received major endorsements today from Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings and other party officials.

Brooks is running for the seat of outgoing Congressman Mike McNulty in the 21st Congressional District.

Mayor Jennings said, "I am proud to endorse Tracey Brooks to replace Mike McNulty for Congress because she has the best combination of experience working in the District, grassroots work in the community and knowledge of the issues most important to us in the City of Albany and the Capital Region..."
